The  'BHANUMATHI' sari is made out of an authentic 'gamucha' or 'gamchha' which is a traditional thin, coarse cotton towel used primarily in India, Bangladesh and in many parts of Southeast Asia. 'Gamucha' or 'gamchha' is produced as a primary handloom product by traditional weavers. After searching far and wide for authentic gamchha sarees, the only ones we came across were the regular cotton printed ones with apron-like checks, not the pinstripe checks that actually makes a gamchha. So, we decided to take the baton in our hands, and you can see the end result. We have added frills and zig-zag laces along the lower part of the sari and pallu. An unstitched authentic gamchha blouse piece is also available with the sari. The blouse piece has frills with zig-zag lace on the back and sleeves too.
