' मत्स्य ' / MATSYA

' मत्स्य ' / MATSYA

Matsya is a Sanskrit word and means "fish". The term appears in the RigVeda. It is related to 'machha', which also means fish.
Just as a fish swims against the stream of a river, that is towards its origin, so also a seeker should go to his place of origin, that is, to the Supreme God - this is what It teaches us.
Featured here is a hand block printed mul saree in bright canary yellow with colourful fish motifs inspired by the above.

Also, a sincere request to all - please note these are not machine made but block printed by hand, so very slight smudges of paint may have been left by the artist. Imperfectly perfect is what we choose to call this beauty of a saree that it is!
